  • Submission Guidelines

All submissions for Bardic Circle Publications must meet the following guidelines. If you do not meet these guidelines your story will be automatically rejected.

Do I have to be a Member of the SCA?

Yes, you must be a member of the SCA to be considered for publication.

What kind of Word Count are you looking for in stories?

Please see the details for the specific book you wish to be published in.

What format should I be working in?

When submitting for consideration all stories should be sent in .PDF format. Most current word processors will allow you to save as a .PDF.

If your story is accepted we will require you to submit your work as a MS-Word .DOC file.

In either case, you must use either Ariel, Times New Roman or Verdana (we prefer Verdana) as your font, in either 10 pt or 12 pt sizes. Pages should be 1 inch margins all the way around.

Every page must be numbered in the bottom center as:
    page x of page y.

Every page must have the title and your name at the top.

The first page must have the title, your SCA AND mundane name, and your complete contact information.

    Do you do the editing?

    No.

Your work MUST be fully edited by a human being. Word Processor Spell and Grammer Checkers are not sufficient.

We are publishers, not editors. If we find to many editing errors we will contact you to ask for a fully edited version.

    What about pictures?

If artwork is essential to your story include it in the .PDF file during your initial submission.

If your work is accepted you will be required to supply the images in seperate files of 300 DPI.

How do I get a submission to you?

Go to our contact page and drop us a note saying that you have a submission. Please be sure to specify for which book and make sure that we know how to get in contact with you.

We will then contact you directly and make arrangements to get your submission.
